Redland Rapid Ridge

Condensation in cold roofs can be a real problem, and has been made worse by the recent cold winters. In response, the NHBC has issued recommendations, published in January 2011, that identify the need for ridge-level ventilation in all cold roofs.

Redland’s Rapid Vented Ridge System is a cost effective, dry fix solution that provides ridge-level ventilation for any pitched roof. It’s quicker, requires less skill to install and 1 carton of Rapid Ridge is enough to fix 5 metres of ridge without having to get off the roof!

Use Rapid Ridge with:

Slates

• Do use with concrete Half Round and Universal Angle Ridge Tiles
• Don't Use with Ridge Ventilation Terminals or Half Round Rosemary Ridge Tiles. When used with Gas Flue Ridge Terminals use the Gas Flue Conversion Roll

Plain Tiles

• Do use with DuoPlain Half Round Ridge Tiles and our concrete Plain Tiles with both Half Round or Universal Angle Ridge Tiles.
• Don't Use with Heathland or Rosemary Clay Plain Tiles, Ridge Ventilation Terminals or Half Round Rosemary Ridge. When used with Gas Flue Ridge Terminals, use the Gas Flue Conversion Roll.

Profile Tiles

• Do use with all profile tiles with Half Round Ridge Tiles except for Old Hollow.
• Don't Use with Ridge Ventilation Terminals or Half Round Rosemary Ridge. When used with Gas Flue Ridge Terminals, use the Gas Flue Conversion Roll.

Components

Each pack contains enough components to fix a 5 m ridge line. Here’s what you get in each pack:

• 5 m of rollable membrane
• 11 ridge to ridge seals (polypropylene - grey)
• 22 woodscrews and clamping plates (stainless steel)
• 9 ridge batten straps (stainless steel)
• 18 ring shank nails (stainless steel)
• 2 end ridge fixings (stainless steel)

You also need concrete ridge tiles in a matching colour. Gable Ends can be mortar bedded and mechanically fixed or completed with matching Block End Ridge Tiles.*

To complete the fitting, you need to fix a 38 mm wide timber ridge batten. The height of this will depend on the tile type, ridge profile and pitch of the roof.
